Cornwall holiday memories we made in 2024!
Time flies when you are having fun, and here we are again, with another winter ahead of us, after closing our gates on the 4th of November 2024. We hope you have had a great time at Hendra and an amazing Cornwall holiday!
Even though the Park is now closed, we still have holidays on the mind, as we look towards 2025. We make all sorts of improvements on the Park, ready to give you more good memories on your Cornwall holiday.
This year we saw some fantastic new editions to the site. Including our new accommodation. The luxury Meadow Lodges, situated in the exclusive Meadow Retreat area of the site, were fabulously well-received by all those who stayed in them. We also welcomed the new top premium range, the Watergate, an stylish and elegant addition. Finally, we welcomed Chestnut House, an 8 bedroom house, great for large gatherings with family and friends. This real home-from-home has all the luxuries of a home with access to Hendra’s first class facilities.

Spring at Hendra Holiday Park: Holiday season begins!
As we sprung into action for the 2024 season, we were happy to welcome our very first guests in some brand new accommodation.
When we opened, at the end of March, we couldn’t wait to show you our new 9 course adventure golf course, Palm Beach. This fun course has been a big hit with everyone, from families, friends and couples.
We introduced our new ice cream shop, Always Sundae, which sells delicious, organic, Cornish ice cream from Roskilly’s Farm.
At Hendra, we are always big on events throughout the year. Easter means that you get egg-cellent Easter activities included in your stay, such as Easter egg hunts and crafts. Chocolate? See you there! This Easter was great fun, with guests enjoying the Easter Egg hunt and being surprised by our magical egg that comes to to life!
June in Cornwall: an off-peak Cornwall Holiday
June is a prime time to visit Cornwall, with all of the beautiful summer sunshine and long days, with less crowds and at some great prices.
We are lucky to have such a wonderful Grounds Team who look after the site and make sure that the surroundings are lush and beautiful! Hendra is the perfect place for a touring holiday or a motorhome or camping holiday. Pull or pitch up and relax, with the peaceful surroundings out of the school holidays, couples will love to explore Cornwall.
This year the Atlantic Coaster cames via Hendra. This open-top bus, travels up the stunning north coast of Cornwall, stopping off a some awesome places, such as Watergate Bay, Mawgan and Porth and Padstow. We are on the bus route too, and have the free Newquay Land Train which goes from Hendra to Newquay each day, returning in the late afternoon, so there’s no need to use a car to get out and about, so you can truly unwind.

Fun-packed, summer holidays, family holidays in Cornwall!
When visiting Hendra in the summer months, you can expect a fun packed summer full of top-notch entertainment and activities. This summer, in 2024, we had a blast.
Our tranquil, heated outdoor pool opens at the end of May, where you relax or play, with our pool shack selling refreshments. It is also prime spot for guests pushing in those pesky pirates during our fun and exciting, weekly, pirate hunt!
The summer also sees so much brilliant entertainment. A firm favourite is Titan the Robot, who returned for 2024, and wowed the crowds with his robot presence.
Our new Ninja Assault Course was also completed in time for the summer. A fun and challenging course, perfect for older kids, with a timer to see if you can complete it super fast and set a record!
During the summer guests were also treated to live music in the Deck Bar. The Deck Bar offers a more relaxed alternative to The Venue, with brilliant live acts, on balmy summer nights. Memories like these help to get us through the winter months.
An awesome autumn Cornwall holiday at Hendra Holiday Park
When summer’s over, it can feel sad, but this autumn at Hendra, there really was no need! We have had plenty of brilliant events in 2024.
A Cornwall holiday is all about the enjoying yourself, however you want to. Newquay Beer Festival came back to Hendra once again, for the 11th year. This amazing charity event is a staple in Cornwall’s calendar. Offering over 100 beers, as well as a fizz and gin bar. There’s also fantastic live music. A family-friendly event, though it is very popular with couples, and takes place at a time of year, perfect for a couples break in Cornwall.
The next event was more for the kids, though lots of adults loved it too! For the second year in a row, 2024 saw the return of the dinosaurs. Hendra was transported back in time to millions of years ago. Hendra guests got dinosaur tickets included in the price of their holiday. The dinosaur weekend included a Dino Trail, with Dino fun and facts around the Park by our very own Park Ranger, AJ! Then there was the roarsome Dinosaur Show, with life-like dinosaurs, facts, fun, and puppetry, followed by photo and petting opportunities!
We also found out that we won the AA Five Pennant Platinum Award, once again, which truly reflects the commitment and hard-work of the whole Hendra Team.
What an absolute scream the 2024 season has been!
The end of the season saw our Hendra Halloween Spooktacular! Aboard the ghost train, scares, frights and screams were plentiful, as the Hendra Team made the end of 2024 the best yet!
More Halloween fun included our pumpkin patch and carving, complete with pumpkin characters! All the (real!) pumpkins are grown on site at Hendra.
There was also frightful fancy dress and Halloween Shows in The Venue.
Going out with a Bang!
Ending the 2024 and everyone’s Cornwall holiday with a bang! This year Spark’s Firework Festival came back to Hendra for the second year in a row. This fabulous festival could be seen by all guests, with additional tickets required for the entrance to the festival grounds, which saw fantastic performances, silent disco and food.
