Surfing in Newquay…

Surfing in Newquay has been going on for decades, but its popularity has escalated to an international sport! It is surfing that makes Newquay special and learning to surf is now one of the most popular activities while on holiday in Newquay.

Newquay is home to some of the UK’s biggest Surf Festivals and probably the biggest and best is Boardmasters, which takes place in August. Surfing events and competitions take place throughout the summer at Fistral, Watergate and Lusty Glaze beaches. Take to the waves yourself or watch the professional surfers in awe as they ride the waves at Fistral Beach!

Eat Out in Newquay…

Enjoy a traditional Cornish pasty from one of the local bakeries, or stop for a delicious Cornish cream tea at one of the many cafes. Our favourite pasties are produced right next door to Hendra at Trevilley Farm Shop!

Newquay has excellent restaurants too; you will find everything from Thai, Indian, Chinese, Greek, Portuguese and Italian, to fresh fish restaurants and fish & chip takeaways, plus places to eat sushi and oysters or steak and chips! Or maybe you’ll stop off for a cocktail at one of Newquay’s cosy bars, perfect for a summer’s evening.

Newquay is also home to Rick Stein’s famous Fish & Chips at Fistral beach, and Prow Park’s tasty takeaway food outlet, just a 10 minute walk from Hendra. And don’t forget to try our delicious homemade food on site, with burgers, pizza and classic fish and chips right on your doorstep!
