Of course, some beaches in Cornwall are more family-friendly than others, as are some of the stretches of coast which are not for little ones. Newquay, which is just a mile and a half from Hendra Holiday Park, and its seven amazing beaches, are perfect for families.
Here’s a quick guide to Newquay’s beaches.
📌Fistral Beach – Newquay’s ultimate surfing beach. Great facilities with parking close by.
📌Towan Beach – In the heart of Newquay, Towan is easily accessible from the town.
📌Great Western Beach – Accessible via a steep slope, there’s good facilities on this beach with high cliffs and surf.
📌Tolcarne Beach – A privately owned beach, with brilliant facilities and great for rock pooling at low-tide.
📌Lusty Glaze Beach – Another privately owned beach, with excellent facilities. This horse-shoe shaped cove is nice and sheltered. Accessible only via steps.
📌Porth Beach – A family favourite with good facilities and ample space to explore.
📌Crantock – Another expansive beach. Crantock is looked after by the National Trust, with parking next to the beach (although it does get busy).
