What a strange year it has been, and we will always remember our 48th season for years to come! Navigating the ‘new normal’ and changing guidelines during this pandemic whilst also trying to still give and maintain the Hendra experience hasn’t always been easy, but we have been up to the challenge.
We certainly couldn’t have done it without the help from our dedicated team, who moved over 5000 bookings during lockdown, and helped implement the new procedures when we opened over 3 months later than usual in July. The cleaning and hygiene team need a special thank you as their job has been one of the most challenging and important ones on the Park this season.
When the Park opened in July, we couldn’t open all facilities, but by the end of July things slowly returned to normal with The Venue opening and the Pool, with sessions in place. The Eat out To Help Out scheme started and it was a big success. The entertainment took place in the marquee, with live music and shows, which felt very much needed after the lockdown. The Park operated on reduced capacity, to ensure the safety of the local community and Hendra’s residents, without compromising your holiday at Hendra.
The autumn brought new challenges, with local lockdowns and different Tiers, but we still managed to have a proper Hendra Halloween, complete with the SpoOoky Hendra Ghost Train, our very own Land Train going through the Park, with scary sorts hiding around Hendra! Pumpkin Carving and sessioned entertainment took place, so that everyone got a safe slice of the entertainment.

Cornwall has been even more popular for holidays this year, with travel restrictions abroad, people feel safer holidaying in England. You can book for 2021, so you get your piece of Cornwall too. Returning customers, who have stayed this year or/and last, will be receiving some exclusive Special Offers just after Christmas.
We can’t thank our guests enough for being patient and helping us to navigate these times: together we have made it through! Today we enter a new lockdown, and the future looks uncertain, but we hope to improve the Park and procedures so that we can keep the Park safe for all next season.
