May in Cornwall

Run to the Sun 2024, 24th – 27th May.

Run to the Sun has been revived, in a new location, it returned last year after several years of absence. In the late 80s and 90s, RTTS was one of the biggest events in the Newquay, and one to the rowdiest. Now it has gone back to its core values: custom cars, and music. This is a ticketed event, but it is also a nice weekend to see these beautiful vehicles drive around the Newquay coast.

2024 English National Surfing Competition, Watergate Bay, 4th – 6th May.

When on the north coast, watching the surf is a must, and witnessing a surf competition is a bonus. Watch some of the best surfers compete and ride the waves at Watergate Bay. This event will see junior and senior shortboard, longboard, SUP and bodyboard divisions.

Cornwall Street Food Festival, Barrowfields Newquay, 24th – 27th May.

Back for 2024, after a successful 2023, is the Cornwall Street Food Festival. Held on Newquay Barrowfields, the Festival has breathtaking views across the ocean. Here you can listen to live music, while enjoying the views and having your pick of cuisines from all over the world. Tickets are only £3 per person, plus a £2 booking fee, which includes a reusable cup. Under 18s are free.

June in Cornwall

The Big Newquay Markets, 1st of June

Taking place on the first every month in the summer, this market is on the Killacourt, in the centre of town, with views over the Bay. With around 50 of the most wonderful local creators and curators of crafts, design, vintage finds, as well as local food and drink, it is not to be missed. There is also live music and entertainment to enjoy, community fun and creative workshops. Get yourself, or someone, a truly local treat.

Royal Cornwall Show, Wadebridge, 6th, 7th and 8th June.

See Cornwall’s top agricultural show, along with local food, drink, crafts, clothes, fun and music. This show will give you a unique insight into another side of Cornwall, and its agricultural and rural life.

Watergate Bay Beach: Arts on the Beach, 15th and 16th of June.

This  is a free family festival held on the beach – what’s not to love?! There’s no better place to get together, with theatre, dance, music and creative workshops. And… a 13-foot roaming puppet.

July in Cornwall

Paulo’s Circus from July 26th – September 8th.

The summer holidays have officially begun when Paulo’s circus arrives in town! This year the circus is  next to Dairyland Farm. Expect more laughs, acrobatics, and stunts. There is nothing quite like a night at the circus.

Schools Out Disco! Newquay Killacourt, 27th of July from 1pm – 3pm.
