There’s just so much to do at Hendra over October half-term, as well as there being so much to do over half-term and Halloween in Cornwall.
At Hendra we have lots on over Halloween, with our very own pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, Halloween arts and crafts and our spooktacular Hendra ghost train!
So, Halloween fans, don’t worry, you are well and truly catered for to experience Halloween in Cornwall!
Newquay Zombie Crawl, 26th of October 2024
A firm favourite in Newquay’s calendar, this fantastic community event sees Newquay don it’s scariest fancy dress, and slowly and scarily make their way down the high-street to a mix of Halloween appropriate music and dancing!
There are Halloween festivities in the town all day long, with a Wounds Workshop, at the Concho Lounge, Pumpkins Workshop at Project 83, and face painting at the Lighthouse Cinema all from 11.30am – 2.30pm. There’s circus skills opposite the cinema from 11.30 – 1.30 too!
There’s lots of other pop-up events around town, so just see where you crawl to!
The main parade starts at 3pm.
Don’t forget to do the Halloween Trail from Saturday 26th to Sunday 3rd November – get your entry forms from Visit Newquay on Marcus Hill.
Fireworks Spectacular at Lappa Valley 31st October and 1st November
Visit this fantastic attraction, 15 minutes from Hendra. A 19th Centruy engine house, situated in this idyllic Cornish valley, which is reached by Lappa’s trains.
From 5.30, children can enjoy the soft play and ride the train on the Lakeside Railway before the fantastic fireworks display starts at around 7.30pm. Enjoy a dazzling display of rockets, fountains, candles and more!
The cafe will be open serving a range of delicious hot and cold food and snacks as well as soft and alcoholic beverages.
For some extra wow-factor, purchase glow sticks, glow glasses, headbands and more.

Pumpkin Fest at Camel Creek, near Wadebridge 19th – 31st of October
Visit this fantastic family attraction with rides, play areas and animals, this October for Pumpkin Fest! Enjoy pumpkins, scenic photo ops, and seasonal fun across the adventure park. Every child gets a free pumpkin (while stocks last). Brace yourself for Halloween spookiness, including haunted attractions, eerie surprises, and family-friendly frights.

Halloween at Heligan, near Pentewan St Austell, 26th October – 3rd of November
Visit this spectacular working garden and witness the harvest, as well as Halloween themed fun.
Expect harvest tasting opportunities, apple pressing, and crunchy walks, as well as corn dolly workshops, and a spooky trail where you can learn about folklore, history and witchcraft.
Head over to the Barn for wand and potion making. And, most importantly, make sure that you warm up at the fire pit and toast a delicious marshmallow.
Screech Owl Sanctuary will be coming over to Heligan and showing off these majestic and magical creatures.
Healeys Cyder Farm, on the way to Truro, from the 19th – 31st of October
This Halloween head over to Healeys Cyder Farm for a haunted tractor ride, pumpkin patch and spooky pumpkin carving sessions!
Climb aboard the haunted Vintage Tractor and ride to Healeys Pumpkin Patch to pick out a pumpkin! After finding the perfect pumpkin, head to the Rattler Bar for Pumpkin Carving!
Each ticket includes a tractor ride plus a medium-sized pumpkin.
Adult tickets also include the tractor ride and pumpkin, however, you’re welcome to swap your pumpkin for a pint of Cyder instead.
