Cornwall Attractions with a difference!

These Attractions are unique to Cornwall, and something that you won’t experience at home!

Bodmin Jail

This spooky attraction takes you to the dark side of Cornwall’s history. At Bodmin Jail you will learn about mining, smuggling and infamous prisoners, and gruesome tales of the past. Explore the eerie cells of former inmates, on the ‘dark walk’, while experiencing the theatrical effects. Children of all ages can attend, recommended age is 8 upwards.

If you are feeling brave, then why not try the newest attraction, Lights Out, for ages 14 plus? The premise is during recent renovation work, the staff have noticed strange things happening around the museum. Quite often the unsettling activity coincides with the unexplainable sighting of a little girl, seen in different spaces in the jail.

Guests will be whisked away on a tour of the building that goes, horribly, wrong. A visit like no other. Because tonight, the attraction truly comes to chaotic life with terrifying consequences!  This event is not for the faint-hearted with live actors, stories and effects.

Lobster Hatchery

This unique attraction is a brilliant place to visit, which you won’t forget.

Located in the idyllic Padstow, right by the Camel Estuary, is this family-friendly attraction. A marine conservation, research and education charity, the Lobster Hatchery has an award-winning visitor centre. Here you can get up close with rarely seen lobster babies, pregnant lobster mamas, giant lobsters and other weird and wonderful coastal creatures.

Cornwall Attractions great for couples!

These attractions are great for couples, but also there’s things for families to do here too!

Lost Gardens of Heligan

The Lost Gardens of Heligan is one of Cornwall’s most well-known and popular attractions.

Heligan was rediscovered after it succumbed to the brambles after World War Two and wasn’t rediscovered until 1990. Now these thriving gardens feature so much to see, from productive gardens, pleasure gardens, woodland, and even its own jungle complete with one of the longest Burmese Rope Bridges in Britain, stretching 100 feet above ancient tree ferns and across the Jungle floor.

Couples will love strolling around and enjoying the garden’s sights and smells. There are places to eat too, with The Heligan Kitchen and the Stewards House. These places provide a range of refreshments that use much of Heligan’s own produce.

Dogs are allowed at Heligan all year round (though because of some livestock, they must be kept on leads).

Healeys Cyder Farm

Home to the famous Rattler Cyder, Healeys offers barrels of fun all year round, with experiences and tours, cream teas, farm animals, and drinks tasting. Friendly dogs on a lead are very welcome at Healeys!
