Here’s our answers to the most frequently asked questions that new travellers are searching for around holidays to Cornwall.

What’s the best time to visit Cornwall and what to pack?
Some of the best times to visit Cornwall are spring (March – May) and Autumn (September – November) the weather is often sunny and the beaches are quieter. Hendra Holiday Park opens for the season at the end of March and then closes early November. We would always recommend packing layers, as the weather in Cornwall can change quickly, so packing waterproofs, sun protection and good footwear for walking the Cornish coast path.

Do I need a car or can I get around Cornwall without one?
Once you arrive at Hendra Holiday Park, you can have a jam-packed break without having to leave the park, with play parks, activities, nightly entertainment, large indoor and outdoor pool, 4 on site eateries and more. If you did wish to venture in to Newquay the Newquay Land Train takes guests in to Newquay for free each morning, meaning to can access Newquays 7 beautiful beaches on foot! There is also a bus that stops directly outside the entrance to Hendra Holiday Park giving you access to many local towns. However, if you are wishing to travel further around Cornwall it is a good idea to take a car to access more remote areas.

How far ahead should I book attractions and accommodation?
When booking to stay at Hendra Holiday Park we would always recommend booking in advance for the best price and availability. November is a great time to book for the following year. Lots of attractions in Cornwall do require booking, we recommend checking them out 2-weeks prior to your arrival date.

What mobile coverage and WI-Fi can I expect?
Mobile coverage and WIFI is good across Cornwall, you may experience less coverage in more rural areas. At Hendra Holiday Park we have free WIFI access in the main area of the park and super-fast WIFI can be accessed in many of the holiday home accommodation.

Which parks offer indoor and outdoor pools with dedicated children’s areas?
Hendra Holiday Park is home to the largest fun pool in the South West, Oasis Fun Pools. The pool features 2 flumes, river rapids, jacuzzi seats, air pads , a giant tap, fountains and waterfalls. There is also an outdoor pool which is heated and free to use for guests with entertainment passes. The play parks, Deck Bar and pool are all gated, keeping a secure play space for children.

Are there on-site daily activities during school holidays?
We have a jam-packed activities schedule for all ages, featuring Hendra Mini 4x4s, Sea Scooters, Jet Ski Aqua Cruise, T-Shirt Printing, Make A Bear Workshop, Arts and Crafts and so much more you can check out the full schedule of activities throughout your stay here.

What types of family accommodation are available?
We have accommodation to suit all families, tastes and budgets, from our top of the range Meadow Lodges, to premium and budget range holiday homes. We also have grassed or hard standing electric pitches for motorhomes, tourers or camping. Or for something a little different you could stay in a 4-bedroomed house, Chestnut House. As we’re an independently owned 5* holiday park, all accommodation is owned by Hendra, there are no owners here!

How close to the park are beaches and local attractions?
Hendra is located a mile and a half from 7 beautiful beaches, there are many more beaches and local attractions only minutes away from the park.

What facilities are there for families beyond pools and entertainment?
We don’t just have two swimming pools and entertainment every night. Hendra Holiday Park is also home to 4 eateries including a pizzeria, fish and chip shop, all day restaurant and ice cream shop. We also have an onsite shop for all your essentials, play parks, a Ninja Assault Course, dog walking field, nature area, adventure golf, three arcades, soft play and a jam-packed activities schedule for all ages.
