Street Art in Newquay

Newquay is an exciting town, with the unique mix of our picturesque working harbour, a surf  skate scene, and now there’s a vibrant art scene. Newquay is home to a range of bold, and striking murals throughout the town. One of the most well-known ones, is located on Sydney Road, nearby to the harbour, is this fisherman attending to his nets. Painted by Elle Koziupa and painted like the art masters.

At Newquay Train Station you can see an artwork inspired by Newquay’s surf scene and Newquay’s relationship with the railway. Painted by Hasan Kamil, this artwork combines a collage like feel, with comic like graphics from the 90s.

📍Rolling into Town – symbolises the arriving tourists during peak summer months, created by Hixxy – Joseph Hicks at the Unity Building, Gover Lane.

📍Playful cartoon – an illustrative and playful design from artist 45 RPM. On The Crescent (by the side of Walkabout).

📍Abstract Beach – by Kleiner Shames, this bold and big mural is at East Street, on Mix bar and restaurant.

📍Poseidon, God of the Ocean at The Feel Good Building, at Pargolla Road. This magnificent painting is great to admire. While you are here, why not explore the offerings, with a wellness spa, yoga studio and healthy eats.

📍Harbour Steps, see the art on your way to the heart of Newquay: the harbour. With art featuring fishermen and boats.

Happening Places in Newquay and beyond

Newquay is growing and changing. There’s always new shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.

📍Wesley Yard – home to some exciting bars, and restaurants, this area is off from the main town and offers many exciting places to enjoy.

📍Nansledan – walkable from Hendra Holiday Park, via the new road, opposite the site, here find some independent shops and cafes.

📍Killacourt – a long-time favourite hang-out in Newquay, the Killacourt is home to many free events throughout the season, with live music. On the first Saturday of every month from April – November, there’s the Big Newquay Market. There’s also some independent shops in permanent cabins.

📍 Porthcurno – one of Cornwall’s most iconic beaches and views. This white sand beach, and stunning coastal walks are jaw-dropping. Located in West Cornwall.

📍 Kynance – another Cornwall icon. This famed spot is know for its rock formations and crystal blue waters. Located on the Lizard Peninsula.

📍 Padstow – this pretty fishing town, is famed for its food scene, and perfect for meandering. Also a great place for boat trips to Rock, or for cycling the Camel Trail with views of the Camel Estuary.

📍St Ives – Famed for its art scene, St Ives is home to the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum,  and many independent galleries. St Ives has white sand beaches, green, blue sea, amazing food and boutique shops.

📍 St Michael’s Mount – This unique historic castle and island can be reached by boat or causeway. Experience the sub-tropical gardens, views and history of this house. Located near Marazion.

📍Watergate Bay – Just up the North Coast, not far from us, Watergate Bay is an expansive beach, good for surf and watersports, and walks with amazing views.

📍Fistral Beach Surf School. A must do when in Newquay. Fistral Surf School has experienced instructors, who can get you out on the waves and having fun!

📍Camel Creek Family Adventure Park. This park is full of rides, play, animals and events. For 2026 there’s Easter Fun, Jurassic Creek in May half-term, Kids’ Fest in the summer holidays and Pumpkin Fest in October half-term. Can’t wait!

📍The Lost Gardens of Heligan. One of Cornwall’s most loved and visited attractions. This large garden lay lost to the brambles until being rediscovered in the 90s. It has come a long way and hosts an array of great events throughout the season, with 2026 being no different. Enjoy a jungle, farmland, produce gardens, pleasure gardens and magic.
