Season’s greetings from Hendra Holiday Park in Cornwall. We have been very busy this winter, so far with our new plans for Newquay Rock’s Activity Centre! It certainly is a very exciting time for us, as we upgrade our facilities.
This is one of our biggest projects yet. Newquay Rocks will be a new year-round and wet-weather activity centre, accommodating a family climbing facility, soft play, gym and community event space. This will open in summer 2026!
This project was part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. Keep checking our socials to see the exciting progress!
Looking back at 2025 at Hendra Holiday Park
Hendra has had a wonderful 2025 season: our 53rd season. We have been run and owned by the same families since 1972, and still are today. Hendra means ‘Home Farm’ in Cornish, and we hope that you feel at home here on the Park.
In 2025 we were pleased to retain our 5 stars from Visit England. It has been the 18th consecutive year that we have been assessed by them.
This year we have improved our facilities once again. Opening The Beach House: Bar and Restaurant, formerly Mario’s. This follows the new Always Sundae ice cream shop, in 2024, and the refurbishment of The Terrace Bar and Restaurant, in 2023: our food offering has never looked better!
The Beach House has been a hit, with its delicious pizza, cocktails, and tranquil setting, with a Jo Downs custom-made shoal of glass fish installed.
We have had a jammed packed season, with something for everyone. Easter brought Easter egg hunts and crafts, then Little Adventures: a package especially for Toddler holidays in Cornwall with a trip to Lappa Valley, swimming, breakfast and a 4×4 taster included.
We have had a great uptake for couples’ holidays in Cornwall too. Our luxury accommodation has been popular amongst couples, along with our Pitch and Pause: grown-up camping at Hendra.
Of course, there’s also our summer holidays. Summer officially starts at Hendra Holiday Park when the outdoor pool opens at the end of May, and then we have the summer holidays beginning in July: 6 weeks full of sun and fun!
Autumn was definitely awesome! Kicking off with Newquay Beer Festival, a charity event held at Hendra and organised by the Newquay Lions. Then there was our Halloween Spooktacular, with our pumpkin patch, complete with our special characters. Our spooky ghost train was fantastically received this year by our guests, and a half-term highlight. The end of season certainly went out with a bang! Sparks Firework Festival was held at Hendra, with live music, food, entertainment and plenty of oohs and aahs when the fireworks went off!
A Cornwall Holiday Park with Entertainment
Hendra Holiday Park has entertainment on every night of the season, and this year has seen some exceptional acts. We expanded our Deck Bar and gave it a makeover, in 2025. It is more spacious, with an expanded bar and furnishings. The Deck Bar is open in peak holiday times, showcasing some of the best live music acts in the South West.
Then there’s The Venue, our other entertainment building, which showcases a range of entertainment from vocalists, our Entertainment Team shows, hippo dances, and more. In the peak-season we had favourites like Titan the Robot, Merlin, Silent Disco nights and more!
In 2026 we can’t wait to make every night of the season one to remember!
Activities at Hendra Holiday Park
As a top place for family holidays in Cornwall, Hendra Holiday Park has so much on for families, with activities on during the school holidays. From Arts and Crafts, 4x4s, Bush Survival School, Dance Academy, Sea Scooters and, new for last year, we have Make a Bear and Hendra’s Superheroes returning. We understand that sometimes holidays can get a bit much: not everyone wants activities and excitement all of the time. At the end of last year we opened The Quiet Space. A low sensory room for groups and families to go to, privately, to relax and have some quiet time. Here there’s a blackout tent, lights, white noise machine and textured tiles.
Looking to 2026…
Next year is looking like a big year for us all at Hendra Holiday Park. Newquay Rocks Activity Centre is going to be an excellent new addition to the Park. Boasting 15 climbing walls, soft play, party rooms, community space and a cafe. We will also have everything that makes Hendra special on, too. What Christmas means to us at Hendra
As a family owned and run park, for 54 years in 2026, family and friends are important to us. We are now run by the 4th generation. This Christmas we would like to extend a big Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends.
We hope that you get together at Christmas time and celebrate with those that you love and care for. Your feedback, custom, and loyalty are all things we value and make sure that Hendra Holiday Park goes from strength to strength each year. We couldn’t do it without you!
