1. Free Easter Celebration at the Killacourt – Newquay

A brilliant family‑friendly event in the heart of Newquay. The Killacourt is one of Newquay’s most beautiful open spaces, with plenty of space for little ones to run around. Over Easter, expect crafts, entertainment, and seasonal activities that don’t cost a penny. It’s the perfect relaxed day out: bring a picnic, enjoy the fresh spring sunshine, and let the kids enjoy the festivities against a backdrop of surf and coastline.

2. Newquay Town Easter Trail & Golden Rock Hunt

If you’re looking for an activity that feels special but is completely free, the Newquay Easter Trail is ideal. Families can collect a free clue sheet from the Tourist Information Centre and follow a colourful trail through town, discovering Easter eggs hidden in local shop windows and landmarks along the way. The much‑loved Golden Rock Hunt adds extra excitement — find a hidden golden rock and swap it for a chocolate prize! It’s a wonderful way to explore Newquay together and support local businesses while keeping the day low‑cost and fun.

3. Explore Newquay Harbour & Spot Wildlife

Spot fishing boats, seals, and enjoy the pretty views at Newquay’s bustling harbour. See the harbour come to life, with coastal flowers on the headland and enjoy the pop-up food stalls. This is the perfect place to visit and let children play, while you sit back, relax, and breathe in the sea air. You can walk into the town afterwards, or continue a walk around the coastline, up to the Huers Hut, a historic Newquay landmark, and around to Towan Headland, which has the old coastguard hut, and Little Fistral.

4. Spring Coastal Walks

Longer days, milder weather, coastal flowers, and orange sunsets over the sea. Spring is the perfect time for falling in love with the great outdoors and Cornwall’s coastline.

Enjoy these walks nearby Hendra:

Trevelgue Head (Porth Island): a beautiful headland, with jaw-dropping views over Porth beach, and towards Watergate Bay. When you reach the end of the headland, you can see right over to the old coastal hut sitting on Towan headland.

Pentire Headland: overlooking Fistral Beach and Crantock, is a beautiful coastal walk. Spot spring flowers and enjoy the views.

The Gannel and Crantock: check tide times for this walk. When the tide is out you can walk all the way to the expansive Crantock Beach. When the tide is in, it is a popular paddleboarding spot.

5. Beach Days – Picnics, Rock Pools & Sunset Watching
