Holidaying with toddlers and babies can be a daunting experience. All the extra things that you have to pack, along with negotiating snack and nap times, you may wonder if to bother at all! I know that I feel the same sometimes, as a parent of small children, but with some forward planning it can all go smoothly (ish).
Everything with babies and small children takes more time, from actually getting out of the house to getting to your destination. Self-catering has many benefits when with a baby and toddler, with a home-from-home it is easier to stick to routines. Having separate bedrooms, and a living area, means adults get some time to themselves when the little ones have gone to bed, rather than sitting in the dark in a hotel room!
We now have our specially designed Toddler breaks: out of season bargain breaks, especially designed with babies and tiny tots in mind. They are a four-night breaks from the 1st and 8th of October. The breaks include a land train park tour every morning with Henry Hippo, daily toddler activity sessions including arts, crafts and messy play, free entry to our fabulous soft-play and much more . You don’t have to venture far to keep the little ones entertained with plenty to do on Park.
Newquay, Cornwall, is a great place to holiday with toddlers. Less than 2 miles from Hendra Holiday Park, there is plenty to do in the local area. Trenance Gardens is a great place to spend a few hours with tiny tots and babies, with plenty of big trees, flowers, 3 cafes, a play park, and ducks to feed this is a perfect place for small ones. Newquay Zoo is close by here, with lions, penguins, monkeys, a red panda, and many more animals to see. There is good park too.
Newquay boasts 7 wonderful beaches. Fistral, the famous surfing beach, is accessible with a pushchair. Parking is available for free at south Fistral, and paid parking is right by Fistral beach and at Little Fistral where it is a short walk to Fistral via a pushchair friendly coastal path. Other accessible beaches include, the harbour (though the hill back up can be a challenge!), Towan beach, and Porth beach which has paid parking on the beach. Lusty Glaze beach has many steps, but if you can get down there, there are excellent facilities for babies and toddlers on this golden sandy beach in a horseshoe cove.
In the town centre you will find surf boutiques, along with a mix of independent and high-street shops. There are many family friendly cafes, restaurants and pubs too. By Towan Beach, in the town centre, there is the Blue Reef Aquarium, with a sea turtles, Reef sharks and shoals of colourful fish – all sure to keep little eyes entertained.
There are other great toddler-friendly attractions close by too, such as Lappa Valley, with steam trains running to the Park, which has outdoor and indoor play areas, and DairyLand – a farm attraction with the enormous indoor play area – The Bull Pit, complete with big slides, and a toddler play area.
