Each year we choose a charity to raise money for. We try and choose a one which either has a local connection or a connection with staff. This year we have chosen The Alzheimer’s Society, which is the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity.
The Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer’s Society is the only UK charity that campaigns for change, funds research to find a cure and supports people living with dementia today.
Claire Frost, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly said: “Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer – someone develops dementia every three minutes, with one million set to develop the condition by 2021. We are therefore enormously grateful that Hendra Holiday Park are rising to the huge challenge it poses by uniting with Alzheimer’s Society to help us defeat dementia. Every pound raised by staff and holidaymakers, at Hendra Holiday Park, will help Alzheimer’s Society provide vital information and support, improve care, fund research and create lasting change for people affected by the condition.”
Thanks to your support, Alzheimer’s Society is facing dementia head on.
Small Change Big Difference
Guests have been very generous, year upon year, kindly donating money on booking. This year it is an optional 50p on each booking. We also have charity collection tins on Park and run prize raffles for charity.
Record Breaking
Last year we raised a record-breaking amount of £13, 398 for Macmillan Cancer Support. ‘Emma Wright, Senior Fundraising Manager said: ““We would like to say a huge thank you to Hendra Holiday Park and all of their guests for raising such an amazing amount of money for Macmillan Cancer Support.’
Giving your small change makes big changes! Thank you for helping Hendra raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society.
