Cornwall has featured in many films and TV series with its spectacular coastline, heritage sites, country houses, traditional cottages and wild moorland. Most recently its been the backdrop for the series based on the books of Winston Graham of the Poldark family. The main locations have been – Charlestown Harbour Charlestown, Wheal Owles Mine at Penwith St Just (Wheal Leisure mine), Lizard Point Landewednack nr Helston, (shipwreck), Poldark Mine Helston, (The Poldark Mine), and Porthcothan beach, (Nampara cove).
The popular series Doc Martin is filmed at Port Isaac, the fictional Portwenn, and Game of Thrones was filmed at Holywell Bay.
