Newquay’s Net Interest
We have always know that Newquay has lots to offer as a holiday destination but now it looks like the whole world is realising too. New research shows that the number of people searching online for Cornwall’s top resort has more than doubled since last year.
Experts say that the 160% increase* is down to the recession and a strong Euro making the Brit break a more attractive option. Here at Hendra Holiday Park though, we say our beautiful part of the world is proving a hit because, well, it’s a beautiful part of the world.

Hendra Inspired

Staff at Hendra Holiday Park are delighted to hand over a cheque for £5000 for the Children’s Hospice South West’s Precious Lives Appeal. We have been fundraising in memory of Joe Way, the inspirational little boy who passed away in May. Joe touched many hearts and is the late son of our Park Manager Matt Way, who lives and works on site with his family.
The money has helped the website set up in his memory – www.joeway.co.uk – to pass the £40,000 fundraising mark. That amazing total will go towards the Precious Lives Appeal which aims to raise £5 million for a children’s hospice in Cornwall, so that children like Joe - and their families – have somewhere to go for respite and support.
There have been all sorts of activities at Hendra to raise as much money as possible, including a bikeathon. Nearly twenty cyclists pedalled their way around the Camel Trail. Adults and children alike completed the Wadebridge to Padstow circuit in memory of little Joe. Many thanks to all the colleagues, friends and family who sponsored the riders and to Sophie Burgess who organized the whole event in aid of Hendra’s nominated charity.

The Park staff and owners then organised raffles, games, fun nights and other events to raise money and inform locals as well as holiday-makers of this special cause for Cornwall.

With major recent improvements to Cornwall's main A30, your holiday journey is quicker than ever! Newquay is now averaging a short 4/4.5 hours from Birmingham or London, and from Bristol under 3 hours. You can leave after lunch and be on the beach by teatime.

You praised us for our great facilities and superb location just outside Newquay. Experts confirmed that we really are “a great base for a family holiday.”

The Fruits of our Labour
Following huge customer demand, Hendra is thrilled to announce The Orchard Field will be open for business in 2009. Nestled on the fringes of the park, with stunning countryside views, the 59 large, flat pitches are ideally suited for tourers and campers looking for a more peaceful holiday experience.
The newly-developed field now boasts a hardcore road network for easy access. We’ve invested heavily in improving and adding to the existing shower and toilet facilities as well as extending the drainage system, in case of the Great British Downpour. Not only that, but responding to your thoughts and feedback, 52 electric hook-ups will also be switched on in time for summer.

Watt A Difference!
The bright sparks at Hendra have unveiled the new look Holly field, now terraced and complete with electric pitches, for the first time. Our grounds team and contractors have been busy laying nearly 3000 metres of cable around the park. Now more tourers and campers will have access to power via electric hook-up, throughout the site.
The improvements are all part of Hendra's huge investment programme to make your holiday at one of Cornwall’s best holiday parks, even more enjoyable. Meanwhile, we are still hard at work landscaping more of the grounds and fitting new toilet and shower blocks.

Another Award...
Hendra have been voted overall park winner in the Out & About Magazine 'Celebrating Excellence' Awards in association with the Caravan Club, and winner of the Family Entertainment category!
Staff at Hendra Holiday Park near Newquay received the award from Out&AboutLive.co.uk Online and Parks Sales Manager, Diane Roberts just before Christmas.
These Awards 'reward excellence in facilities, consistent hard work that ensures first-rate standards and all-round campsite superiority.' The judges said, 'Hendra, close to Newquay, is a holiday resort in itself, with the emphasis on catering for families. Entertainment from swimming pool complexes to several restaurants is at Hendra. And because the park is in such a huge setting, surrounded by gorgeous countryside, its appeal is also one of calm and tranquility'.
Well done Hendra, another well-deserved award for an outstanding park.
