Hendra opens for its 40th season this Friday and we couldn’t be more excited! Hendra has grown from a touring and camping park in 1972, adding caravan holiday homes in the mid 80s. Over the last 40 years Hendra has developed its superb landscaped and award winning facilities and now has over 300 holiday homes and over 600 touring, camping and motorhome pitches.

We have certainly come a long way since those days back in the seventies! Major and continuous development into facilities and services have won Hendra major awards and accreditations including a National Quality Assured Scheme 5 star grading, 5 Pennant Holiday Centre  AA award , Rose award, Loo of the Year Award, and a Gold David Bellamy Award. Last year Hendra scooped the Overall Winner Award at the Cornwall Sustainability Awards 2011, and the Best Large Managed Company Award.

As a family owned and operated park Hendra knows what makes a holiday special. This year we are bringing some fabulous new facilities to make our 40th season the best so far!

We have the brand new Scooter and Skate Park, complete with a picnic area, so parents can keep an eye on their little ones. There is the new contemporary styled Pool Terrace - a great place to chill out by the pool and have a cold drink from the Tavern, with outdoor heating for the cooler weather. There is a new coffee bar in the Tavern, for a kick-start to the day or a mid-afternoon pick me up. Not forgetting Hendra’s new traditional Fish and Chip shop – a holiday to the seaside isn’t complete without this Great British takeaway. 

We can’t wait to celebrate our 40th anniversary this year with all of our guests –after all life begins at 40, so things can only get better each year!
