Happy New Year everyone!
January is here, and with the first month of the year comes the January blues too! We are keenly waiting for the spring, not that we haven’t had enough to do at Hendra, with all the preparations for the new season! And we are taking lots of bookings for 2012, especially for Easter!
Last April we saw some of the best weather of the year, with clear blue skies and balmy days. To put a spring in your step we thought we would let you know what’s going on at local attractions over the Easter break, so you have plenty of ideas on what to do and if you haven’t made a booking yet maybe we can tempt you down to Hendra!
First off there is the Hall for Cornwall, in Truro, with Beauty and the Beast, an adaptation of the award-winning Disney film, and fun for the whole family over Easter from the 4th – 7th of April.
Newquay Zoo has a fabulous Easter Wonderland Weekend for the whole family, from the 6th – 9th of April, where they will be hosting a wonderful Alice in Wonderland themed weekend! You can follow the White Rabbit and Alice Wonderland trail, play croquet on the lawn with the Red Queen and visit the Mad Hatter at his daily tea party! There’s also duck racing, arts and crafts and many animal encounters!

If history and heritage is your thing then Trerice Manor is the place for you on Easter weekend. This intimate Elizabethan Manor House, which is a short drive from Hendra, offers a unique opportunity to experience the house at night, as it would have been in the past. The house is lit by candlelight with music to enjoy in the Great Chamber. See volunteers in Tudor costume and in the Barn there will be a simple rustic dinner as well as hot drinks. You can also explore the gardens at night - remember to bring a torch!
We hope this gives you a few ideas of great things to do in Cornwall this Easter, or wets your appetite for a Cornwall break!
